Isabelli Coal Mine

That's me on the right - showing you where the tire is. Coal is much lighter than dirt or gravel so they've added 1-1/2 foot to the sides of each truck and a tailgate to hold more coal per load. The power shovel I hope to upload next has a boom 1,000 feet long - the boom is as long as a football field.

  1. Barb,
LOVE the photos! I hope you are enjoying the adventure as much as it looks like you are from here. Nice weather this week but next is back in the 90's.

  2. Pictures at last. HOOOOOORaaay!! I hope to see more soon, especially the wild life, (not the bar life) and flora. It is summer today, 100 degrees. Granddaughter are in the pool and gramps big feet are there too! I loved the photos of the glacier landing.
What a great adventure you are having. I fly to Calif next week for the memorial service for my best friend Roger. It is also his fathers memorial as he passed away one week after his son. Tough trip.
